How to set ringtone on Android devices?

Devices that you use in a corporate institute should be customized based on their requirements. Whether device settings, wallpaper, lock screen, or even ringtone can be remotely configured with Hexnode. So, to set a ringtone on an Android device, you don’t have to individually access the device and manually do so. You can set ringtone over-the-air with an MDM.

Notes:

  • Audio files with extension .mp3 are only allowed.
  • The file size should be below 350 KB.
  • Supported on Android 5.0 and above.

To set the ringtone on an Android devices remotely using MDM

To remotely set the ringtone on a single Android device,

  1. In the Hexnode portal, go to Manage > Devices.
  2. Click on the device on which you have to set the ringtone.
  3. Go to Actions > Change Ringtone.
  4. Click on Choose file and select an mp3 file with size less than 350KB.
  5. Click on Done.


If you want to push this ringtone to a large number of devices at the same time,

  1. In the Hexnode portal, go to Manage > Devices.
  2. Select the devices on which you are planning to set the ringtone.
  3. Go to Actions > Change Ringtone.
  4. Click on Choose file and select an mp3 file with size less than 350KB.
  5. Click on Done.


Exception:


Change Ringtone action will not work on Profile Owner enrolled devices.
