Windows Update TroublesSolved

I’m having issues getting Windows updates to apply via policy. Currently we have a main windows policy and then a test policy only applied to a couple of IT/Security devices used for testing features. The main policy is only set to bi-annual updates but the test policy is set to release preview-quality updates only. Currently my issues are:

  • Devices seem to not be recieving updates at all
  • Devices don’t have the option for users to install updates, which they should?

I basically just want windows devices to recieve monthly updates from windows (security updates, quality updates) anyone run into a similar issue?

Hi @stephendanzey!

Thanks for reaching out. To help resolve this, could you let me know if the updates are listed on your devices? Additionally, I’d like to know if the Windows Update Experience has been configured on your devices. Your input will be very helpful in getting this sorted out.

No updates were listed as available on my test devices if that’s what you’re asking, all i could do was view update history. Any options to scan or check for updates were innaccesible.

As for WUE, yes this has been configured. Auto install updates is checked and Disallow users to check for updates is unchecked. We do have quality update deadlines set to 14 days but it’s definitely been past that for some time now. Let me know if I should provide other settings.
