We are looking to set up a kiosk device running on Windows 10. Our requirements are as follows –

  • Users should be able to login with AD credential to kiosk.
  • Users should not be able to login to the admin account.

Is it feasible to set up a kiosk like this with AD?

@ViViana, Hexnode UEM’s Kiosk mode for Windows is supported on AD (Active Directory) and Azure AD user accounts. However, to apply the kiosk configuration on the account, the device user must have initialized the account by logging into it at least once. You can follow the regular steps to prepare the kiosk on your AD/Azure account if this has been done.

Setting up Single App Kiosk on Windows device

Setting up Multi App Kiosk on Windows device

While entering the kiosk account name, follow the notation –

  • For AD user – Domain\SAM account name
  • For Azure AD user – Email address

To apply the kiosk after deploying the policy, restart the device. Once restarted, log in to the kiosk account to start the kiosk experience. Users may exit the kiosk and proceed to the Accounts login page manually by pressing the key combination of Alt + Ctrl + Del.
The user won’t be able to log in to the admin account without the appropriate credentials.

Hope I was able to answer your query.

Cheers!
