We have our android (Samsung Tab A8) devices configured with the following settings checked under Policies:
- Android > Restrictions > Basic > Allow Network Settings > Wi-Fi
- Android > Restrictions > Advanced > Allow Connectivity Options > Configure Wi-Fi
- Android > Restrictions > Advanced > Allow Connectivity Options > Configure managed Wi-Fi profile
- Android > Restrictions > Advanced > Allow Settings > Modify settings
- Kiosk Lockdown > Android Kiosk Lockdown > Peripheral Settings > Connect to and switch between saved Wi-Fi networks
- Kiosk Lockdown > Android Kiosk Lockdown > Peripheral Settings > Show all available Wi-Fi networks
This allows our users to reconnect the wi-fi on their own if they need to. We have each device also configured with “Wi-Fi Auto reconnect on”.
As our devices are spread out and each one would require a user intervention to push suggested wi-fi configuration policies to, we don’t wish to use those. In addition, our networks sometimes change AND several of them utilize the same SSID but with different passwords. So these are the reasons I have not configured the below policy:
- Android > Networks > Wi-Fi
Each device worked fine for a week or two, but now, frequently, a user will have to disconnect the wi-fi and reconnect it because even though it shows connected, it also shows an error like there’s no internet.
Any ideas? Please let me know if you need any further information. Thank you.
