Hi all, I recently implemented a web content filter to block certain PDFs in iOS. However, after removing the blocklist filter and adding them to the allowlist, the PDFs still cannot be accessed. Could someone help me understand why this might be happening?
Web filter blocking PDFsSolved

Hi @zariah ,
Thank you for reaching out to us!
The issue probably occurs because the URL associated with the search engine used to open the PDFs has not been allowlisted. To view allowlisted PDFs, all necessary URLs must be included in the Allowlist filter under the Security > Web Content Filtering policy for iOS. For instance, if you’re accessing PDFs via Google Search, both the Google search engine’s URL (e.g.,https://www.google.com/) and the URLs of the PDFs themselves must be added to the allowlist.
Hope this answers your query.
Cheers!

Hi everyone, I accidentally applied two policies to the same devices, one with some websites blocklisted and the other with some websites allowlisted. Some websites appear in both policies, but I’m unsure how they will be handled. Could someone clarify how this works?
Hi @jimena ,
Thank you for reaching out to us!
If a URL is allowlisted in one policy and blocklisted in another, the URL will be blocked, as blocklisting overrides allowlisting. Only URL’s that are not on the blocklist can be accessed.
Let us know if there’s anything else you’d like to know!
