Hey, Thanks for reaching out to us.
Yes, you can integrate Google Map API with Hexnode MDM for enhancing the address resolution. If the integration is not performed, device locations will appear on the map, but you won’t get to know their actual physical addresses.
The admin can add an already existing Google Maps API Key or can generate a new one from the Google Maps platform Console.
Once the Google Maps API Key is generated, you can add this to Hexnode MDM portal. To enter the generated Google Maps API key in the portal:
- Login to the Hexnode portal and navigate to Admin-> General Settings.
- Navigate to Google Map API Key settings and enter the generated API Key.
- Click Save.

what is the default map used by Hexnode? What are the features that it can provide?
Hey, Thanks for reaching out to us.
Hexnode allows two mapping tools for the loading of maps on the portal- Google Maps and OpenStreetMap by using the Leaflet JavaScript library. The OpenStreetMap is used by default.
The key features of the default map are:
- Simple and easy interface for handling and controlling web maps.
- It works on a wide range of browsers for both mobile and desktop versions.
- It has enhanced panning and zooming features. Multiple devices from the same location are spiderfied for better visibility.
Please check out our help doc on the default map in Hexnode for more info.
Cheers!
