Uninstall apps from the Android devices using Hexnode MDMSolved

Yes, you can uninstall Android apps with Hexnode MDM. Here’s how you do that.

1. Go to Management > Devices 
2. Click open the Android device you want the app to be uninstalled from
3. On the device page, navigate to Applications 
   You can see a list of installed applications, sorted alphabetically by default.
   Notice the Trash icon at the right for each removable app. System apps can’t be removed
4. Search the app you want to uninstall.
5. Click on the Trash icon next to it, click YES to confirm, type in your Password and you’re done.

The app will be uninstalled automatically on Samsung SAFE devices and on rooted devices.

On other devices, a confirmation pops up. Once the user taps to confirm uninstallation, the app would be removed.

Can this be done remotely?

Yes, it can be. Follow the below steps for the same:

1. Navigate to the Manage tab and select the desired devices.
2. Click on the Actions button and choose the ‘Uninstall Application’ option.
3. Select the app that you want to uninstall and click ‘Done’. The action will be initiated.

In Samsung Knox devices, rooted devices and on those with Hexnode as a system app, the uninstallation happens silently. In the case of Generic devices, the app uninstallation will generate a prompt on the devices.
Also, the system apps cannot be uninstalled from an Android device.

What if the app is in kiosk mode? Would they get uninstalled? It’s an Enterprise app”

Hey, Thanks for reaching out to us.

When the app uninstallation action is pushed remotely to the device, silent uninstallation will happen in the case of Samsung Knox devices, rooted devices, and devices that have Hexnode MDM as a system app. In the case of other generic devices, the uninstallation action will create a prompt.
However, if the device supports silent installation of enterprise apps, the app will get installed back to the device.
