I am having difficulty testing an iPad I just set up with hexnode – many features are working, but I tried to put it in lost mode and send a message and was unable to do so. Can you tell me what I may have forgotten? I enrolled by simply downloading the ap and logging in with the emailed invtie

Hi Robson,

Please let me know whether your device supervised. The Lost mode works on supervised devices. If the device isn’t supervised, refer this article (https://www.hexnode.com/mobile-device-management/help/ios-supervised-mode/) to make it supervised. You can use either Apple Configurator or DEP to make the device a supervised one.

This video will walk you through the steps to supervise an iOS device.

To check whether a device is supervised, go to Management tab in Hexnode MDM console and select a device. Under Hardware Info, you can see whether the supervision is turned on or off.

Once the device is supervised, retry sending the message. If the problem persists, please let us know.

Thanks and regards
