Have a couple of Samsung Knox devices. They are android 10 devices so mac randomisation is enabled by default. But I want the device to connect with their original address to a network (our office network). Can Hexnode help?

Hello Stefan,
Thank you for reaching out to us. You can configure the Knox Service Plugin app to disable mac randomization for a particular network. While configuring the app through Hexnode make sure that you enable the options, Enable Wi-Fi policy controls, Allow to configure Wi-Fi, and Enable device policy controls. If these options are not configured, changes made via this app will not get reflected on the device. Configure a network by giving its Wi-Fi Network Name, Security Type, and Password. Enable the option Skip Mac Randomization. The device will connect to this network using its original MAC address. However, the user can go back to using a random Mac address by manually changing the Wi-Fi settings in the device.
Cheers!!

You lost me at mac randomization. Have heard that it is a great security feature but I am not sure what it does.
Mac randomisation is a great security feature as it prevents network operators from tracking a device through its Mac address. It basically attaches a random mac address to a device when it connects to a network thereby masking the original mac address. Hope that makes sense.
