Hi.. I would like to set the default mail app in mac to outlook so it would automatically open mails and links in the outlook app. Is there a way I can achieve this without ever touching the device.

Did you try using the email policy under the mac policies. It has the option to set outlook for the mail.

@amber that wont work for me. The email policy just sets the email server as outlook. So that outgoing emails are sent through the outlook server. I need to set the default mail app as the Outlook app, so mails open up directly using the Outlook app.

Try the MailToOutlook 2.0 app. Probably not need the user for interaction, automatically should set it as defaukt mail app. Its third party app so use with your own risk

I tried installing the device using the install action after adding the device as an enterprise app. But the status is stuck in ‘In progress’ stage. Anything I need to do know when I install the app.

@austin before you install the app, install outlook on your device. And don’t worry about being stuck ‘in progress’ state. It will reflect on the device after some time. Try this and see if it works.
