As a part of our ongoing efforts to increase the range of available restrictions across all supported platforms, we are excited to announce a new set of Android restrictions. The newly added restrictions will focus on the remote configuration of the preferred date, time, and timezone settings for your users’ devices.

Here’s the list of all the newly added date and time settings that you can now access from Policies > Android > Advanced Restrictions > Date & Time Settings:

Set date and time automatically

  • Allows the date and time to be updated automatically based on the device’s mobile network.

Set time zone automatically

  • Allows the timezone to be updated automatically based on the device’s mobile network.

Set time zone

  • Manually set the preferred timezone.

Allow users to modify date and time

  • Allow the users to modify the date, time, and timezone settings on their devices.

Time format

  • Set the time format to 12-hour or 24-hour time format.

However, please note that these features are supported only on Android Enterprise Device Owner and Samsung Knox devices. And as always, the feature release will be done in batches. So please hold on just a little while as we get this feature to you.

And if you have any questions, you can reach out to us at support@hexnode.com or ping us here at Hexnode Connect. And don’t forget to check out our updated help doc while you are at it.
