We have an issue where one of our employees reports they cannot log in or change the password on their macOS devices. Additionally, there is no option to reset the password. Is there any way we can resolve this issue remotely using Hexnode?

Thanks for reaching out. No need to worry, as Hexnode provides an easy way to change the password for a user account on the device. Follow the steps below to change the password of a user account:
- Login to your Hexnode UEM portal.
- Navigate to Manage > Devices. Click on the macOS device you want to change the password.
- Go to the Local Accounts tab.
- Click on the horizontal three-dot menu corresponding to the respective user.
- Select Change Password option from the drop-down.
- You need to provide the username and password of the admin user under Administrator account credentials to change the user’s password.
- Enter the new password and password hint for the target user under Target account details. Click Confirm.

Thanks for the information, employees can log in with their set passwords. On a related note, I have a few questions about our shared devices, which are used by multiple users. Is it possible to disable all other user accounts without erasing their data, and then re-enable these accounts when the respective users need to use the device?
Yes, we can disable a user account on the device without erasing their data and enable the user when it is needed. Follow the steps below to disable user:
- Login to your Hexnode UEM portal.
- Navigate to Manage > Devices. Click on the macOS device you want to disable the user account.
- Go to the Local Accounts tab.
- Click on the horizontal three-dot menu corresponding to the respective user.
- Click on the Disable User option and click on Proceed.
- Enter your Hexnode UEM portal password and click Confirm.
To enable the user again, follow the steps below:
- Login to your Hexnode UEM portal.
- Navigate to Manage > Devices. Click on the macOS device you want to enable the user account.
- Go to the Local Accounts tab.
- Click on the horizontal three-dot menu corresponding to the respective user.
- Click on the Enable User option and click on Proceed.
- Enter your Hexnode UEM portal password and click Confirm.
