We all know that setting up a secure network connection is super important. But sometimes setting up a portable hotspot makes more sense, especially if you are moving around a lot. But how do you make sure that these connections are secure? And most importantly, how do you get your users to set a strong and secure password for the connection?

Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered! We will be releasing two new restrictions specifically to address this issue.

  • Wi-Fi Hotspot SSID – Remotely sets the preferred name for the hotspot.
  • Set Hotspot Password – Remotely configures the hotspot password.

With the addition of these two configurations, you can remotely set up your mobile hotspot with a strong password and relax, worry-free. However, please note that the feature is supported only on devices running on Android 8.0 and lower.

To get started, head over to Policy > Android > Restrictions > Basic and navigate to the Allow Network Settings section.
