We’re introducing a new section of restrictions for Macs—Secure Wi-Fi settings under
Policies > macOS > Advanced Restrictions. As the name suggests, this section includes options that enable IT administrators to restrict the Wi-Fi configurations of their managed macOS devices. In the current release, the focus is on enforcing admin authorization at the device end for users to perform actions such as:

  • Switching between Wi-Fi networks
  • Enabling IBSS
  • Turning Wi-Fi on/off

Enforcing admin authorization for these actions, especially since they involve the device connecting to unsecure or unknown networks, is an important security feature, and we’re thrilled to announce its release.

Check out our help documentation for further explanation of each of these options and how to configure them.

Best regards,
