Hey everyone, we have deployed iPhones to our employees and need to prevent them from logging into iCloud or adding their apple account to the devices since the devices are company owned. Is there a way to achieve this?

Hi @Josfinnn,

Thanks for reaching out to us.

Yes, we have got the solution for you. Hexnode lets you restrict employees from adding their Apple IDs to their iOS devices. You can go to Policies > iOS > Restrictions > Allow Security and Privacy Settings and uncheck the box corresponding to the “Modify an account” option to get the job done. It will grey out the Sign in to Your iPhone option at the device end. Hence, your employees won’t be able to sign into the devices using their Apple IDs. However, it will also block the users from adding other email accounts to the devices.

Please note that this restriction only works on supervised iOS 7.0+ devices.

Hope this answers your query.

Cheers!

Thanks @Evin Lee, it worked. But, is there a way that we can allow users to add google accounts in their iPhones.

Hi @Josfinnn,

Unfortunately, it is not currently possible to permit users to add their Google Accounts while blocking them from configuring Apple IDs. However, with Hexnode, you can add users’ emails to the devices using the Google Accounts policy. You can go to Policies > Accounts > Google Accounts > +Add Account, enter the Gmail address in the field corresponding to the ‘Email address‘ option and associate the policy with the required device to get the job done.

After applying the policy, employees can enter the password of their Gmail accounts by navigating to Settings > Mail > Accounts on the device end.

Please note that this policy is only supported on iOS 9.3+ devices.

Hope this helps.

Thanks
