Not able to uninstall the application on Android deviceSolved

Hey there,

We have an issue with uninstalling applications on Android devices. There is a policy where some enterprise apps are installed on the device, but even after the policy is removed, the apps are not getting uninstalled. We’ve tried everything but still cannot do it. The apps were installed as required apps. Has anyone else experienced a similar issue?

Hi @raelynn , can you try checking whether there is a restriction applied on the device, like disallowing “Uninstall application”? This restriction might conflict with the removal of the apps even after the policy is removed.

We had the same issue as @raelynn mentioned. Even after the policy was removed, the enterprise apps were not removed from the device. We also tried replacing the apps in the policy, but the apps still weren’t uninstalled. As @roosevelt mentioned, there was no such policy in place, but the apps are still not getting removed.

I’ve tried uninstalling the application using Hexnode’s “Uninstall Application” remote action, but the app still isn’t getting removed. Also, the issue is only occurring on a few devices, other devices are working perfectly. When we tested on some other Android devices, the issue couldn’t be reproduced.

Guys, we discussed the same issue with Android team they stated that this issue is related to a known Android 14 User Restriction problem. some cases, the DPC (Device Policy Controller) sets the permission to false, but the system fails to toggle the state. Unfortunately, there isn’t an identified fix for restrictions that have been made permanent. If restrictions have already been made permanent, the only resolution is to remove the work profile or factory reset the device. This could explain why the issue is happening only on specific devices. I think we need to wait for a fix.
