Managing App Data Usage on Mobile Devices Solved

I’m looking for a way to restrict certain apps to Wi-Fi only, preventing them from using cellular data. We’ve been experiencing excessive data usage on some devices, and I’d prefer to limit app access instead of removing them altogether, which would be unfair to everyone. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Hello @Otis  Welcome to Hexnode connect!

You can easily restrict certain apps to Wi-Fi only using Hexnode UEM. To do this, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to Policies, select Network Data Usage Management under Android and click Configure.

  1. Choose App-wise Restrictions and click +Add App to select the apps you want to restrict.

  1. Select the Block mobile data option and click Done.

  1. Go to Policy Targets and click +Add devices to choose the specific devices for this policy. You can also associate it with device groups, users, user groups, or domains.

  1. Finally, click Save to apply the policy.

This will restrict selected apps to Wi-Fi only, preventing them from using cellular data. Feel free to reach out if you need further clarification.
