Tired of manually checking the prerequisites, and applying the necessary configurations while installing an application? We’ve got you covered!

With Advanced Scripting for macOS, you can now skip these mundane steps and automate your app installation for a hands-free experience. You can use the pre- or post- install scripts for customizing app installation and to avoid repackaging installers.

  • With Pre-install scripts, you can ensure that the target system meets the application requirements and perform custom actions before installation.
  • With Post-install scripts, you configure the application settings, provide necessary permissions, or even install additional components or plugins.
  • With Audit scripts, you can ensure that the application is configured correctly by checking for files, folders, apps, and settings related to the installed application on the system.

You can configure the required scripts under App Management > Mandatory Apps.

Configuring pre and post installation scripts for macOS

You can either upload the files directly from the policy itself or add a script from the Hexnode repository. And if you have any questions, you can always check out our help doc.

PS: The feature will be rolled out in batches, and it might be a while before it reaches you. But don’t worry, you can always raise a request with our support team for an early access.

Stay tuned and happy testing,
