Hi,

We’ve the password policy configured on Mac devices. Wud like to know if there is a specific number of days prior to the expiry that the device prompts the user to modify the password?

Hello @charlie

Yes, there is. It is 14 days.

I found this https://support.apple.com/en-in/guide/directory-utility/ior9dfab7fbd/mac among Apple’s help doc for password expiration on AD. Given the number 14, is it possible to modify the value using the above script? Since the password policy is already associated, I doubt if it works. Need help.

Your queries are always welcome!

You can execute almost all customizations and configurations on Mac devices through scripts. The above script too can be executed, no matter if the password policy is associated or not. This script, however, works on the system setting. Therefore, it manages not just the Active Directory users but local accounts also.
