Hi,
Can I limit usage of my laptops for specific time period? They are mac.
Hey, Thanks for reaching out to us.
Hexnode MDM can restrict the device usage to weekdays/weekends, as well as prevent access to the device for the set time.
Kindly follow the below steps for the same
1. Navigate to policies. Please create a new policy or you can choose to edit an already existing one.
2. Go to macOS–>Security–>Time Limits. Click configure.
3. Enable access limit option is enabled by default. Kindly choose from the following options based on your requirement:
Allow access on weekdays– Allows access to the device from Monday to Friday for the specified duration.
Allow access on weekends– Allows access to the device on weekends (Saturday and Sunday) for the specified duration.
4. The Prevent Access option is to set the time duration for which user access is to be restricted.
5. Please associate policy targets and click save.
Please refer the help link for further assistance
PS: The admin can override the policy to change the time limits while logging in to the device.
Cheers!

When you have set the time limit what exactly happens on reaching the time limit? Will the device be turn off?
Hi Gregory,
Thanks for reaching out to us!
On reaching the time limit set in the policy, the user would be logged out automatically if the device is in use.
A prompt appears in the device reminding the user that the account would be logged out within the specified time limit.
The Admin can override the policy to change the time limits while logging in to the device. Any existing or new Time Limit policy comes into effect only after the time extension provided by the admin is up.
