We have applied a kiosk policy across large number of iPads. They don’t seem to take effect. What will be the reason?

Hey, Thanks for reaching out to us.

Supervision lets you access the extra features intended for corporate devices. Supervision enables you to execute the silent installation of apps, blacklisting of applications, set global proxy, etc..
IOS devices can be supervised using Apple Configurator or Device Enrollment Program(DEP). Supervision using Apple Configurator involves hooking up the devices to a Mac whereas Supervision via DEP is entirely over-the-air.

Please use the link to know more about iOS supervised mode

Cheers!

Hi Damari,

Thanks for reaching out to us!

You would be able to find if an iPhone is supervised or not from your Hexnode portal itself. Kindly navigate to Manage > Devices > Click on the device name > Device Summary > Hardware Info > Supervision.

For supervised iOS devices, the Status will show as ON. For non-supervised devices, the status would be OFF.

You would be able to check the supervision status of the device from the device end as well. Just navigate to the Settings app on the iOS devices and for supervised iOS devices you would be able to see the message ‘This iPhone is supervised and managed by <your organization>

Supervising iOS devices unlocks various features and configurations that otherwise cannot be applied to the iOS device. This includes blacklisting/whitelisting apps, Web content filtering, and many more.

Check out the help link to know more about supervising iOS devices: https://www.hexnode.com/mobile-device-management/help/ios-supervised-mode/

To know more on the features supported by Supervised devices Vs that of non-supervised, please refer: http://www.hexnode.com/mobile-device-management/help/ios-supervised-mode/
