Keep display on when device is lockedSolved

Hey everyone,

Our company uses locked Android tablets in kiosk mode at checkout counters to display QR codes for things like product information and loyalty program sign-ups. Is there a way to keep the screen on even when the device is locked? We want the QR code to remain visible at all times without requiring repeated staff interaction.

Anyone else dealt with this? Got any tips?

Hey @aurora, you can keep your device’s display on even when it’s locked. Here’s how to do so:

  1. On your Hexnode UEM console, navigate to the Policies tab.
  2. Choose your existing kiosk policy.
  3. Select Peripheral Settings from Kiosk Lockdown > Android Kiosk Lockdown and click on Configure.
  4. Under Display settings, check the option Keep screen On.

Keep display on option in Kiosk Lockdown on Hexnode UEM console.

For more information, you can check out help document on enabling peripheral settings for Android devices in kiosk mode.

Is there any option similar to this for devices used in signage?

Hi @jayceon, there isn’t a direct option to keep the display on indefinitely for digital signage. However, you can manage the screen sleep settings under Policies > Kiosk Lockdown > Android Kiosk Lockdown > Digital Signage Display, where you can specify either a time duration (mm:ss) or a set number of loops before the device enters sleep mode. Adjusting these settings will help ensure the device remains active as needed.
