Is there a developer mode for hexnode browserSolved

I would like to enable developer mode so that I can mirror the Hexnode browser to my PC because it would make taking screenshots and doing other development/testing work easier. Similar to how this works: https://dev.to/dev0x0/using-google-chrome-console-on-any-mobile-device-9ec

Is there a way to do that?

Thanks!

Hi Russell,

Welcome aboard to the Hexnode Community!

We’ve got you covered.

If you can specify the platform being addressed, that would be quite useful for us to help you with that.

As for now, we suppose we have something resonating with your requirements available as Developer Options in Advanced Website Kiosk Settings for Android devices. As a part of it, the Remote Debugging option streamlines the debugging of web apps from Chrome on your PC. It lets you inspect a page running on the Android device from your development machine (Mac, Windows, or Linux computer).

Kindly check out if that’s what you were looking for.

Feel free to reach out to us!

Regards,

Catherine George

Hi Catherine!

Thanks for this answer! I have a Samsung A8 as my device – but I guess I’m unsure of what “platform” means in this context. Do you mean the OS version or something similar?

This is indeed what we currently are doing, but the problem is that we cannot do it using the Hexnode browser; it’s only possible using the Chrome browser.

Is it possible to follow this process using the Hexnode browser?

Thanks!

Hello @Russell,

Regarding the platform of the device, I just wanted to confirm if yours was an Android device.

And yes, you can follow the same process using the Hexnode Browser.

On your Android device, activate Developer Options and enable USB debugging. Then connect your device to your PC and open DevTools (chrome://inspect/#devices). Here, under Remote Target, you can view the devices, the browsers present in them, and the tabs open in each of the browsers.

View Hexnode Browser in DevTools

Click on inspect corresponding to the required tab open in Hexnode Browser to mirror the tab open in Hexnode Browser onto your PC.

Please give this a try and if there’s any particular issue you’re facing, kindly let us know so that we can look into it further.

Best regards,
Catherine George
