I want to install some apps on my devices enrolled in Hexnode UEM without notifying the user or requiring any user interaction. Is this possible?
Install and update apps without notifying usersSolved

Yes, you can install and update apps silently through Hexnode. However, the behavior depends on the type of app and the enrollment type used for the device.
Is it possible to uninstall the apps installed silently from the device? If so, is there a way to prevent users from doing that? I have a fleet of Android devices managed through Hexnode UEM.
Hey @cameron! Great question.
Boris is spot on, you can install and update apps silently, and the app installation behavior varies based on the enrollment method used and app type. You can check out our documentation for more details about app installation and update behavior across devices.
To prevent app uninstallation, you can deploy the app as a required app. It will be installed silently (depending on the enrollment method). If the user attempts to uninstall the app, it will be removed initially. However, the Hexnode UEM app will periodically check for the app’s presence since it is flagged as “required app” and automatically reinstall if found missing. This ensures the app cannot be uninstalled from the device and can only be removed through the Hexnode UEM portal.
@remi, since your platform is Android, you can prevent the app uninstallation using the advanced restriction Uninstall apps. By unchecking this option and applying the advanced restriction alongside the required apps policy, you can further ensure that app uninstallation is blocked directly from the device end.
Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions 😊.
