Implementing split-screen functionality in multi-app kiosk modeSolved

Hi there!

Can we enable Samsung’s Edge Panel on our Android devices enrolled in Hexnode UEM while in multi-app kiosk mode? We want to add the split-screen shortcut as an icon in the Edge Panel.

Furthermore, we’ve observed an issue where activating split-screen mode causes half of the screen to turn black on our Samsung tablets while in kiosk mode.

Is there any way to implement split-screen mode effectively? Any suggestions?

At the moment, adding the Edge Panel is not supported in Hexnode UEM’s kiosk mode.

If Lock task mode is enabled while configuring the kiosk policy, split-screen will not function properly on the device. This is probably why you’re seeing a half-black screen when attempting to implement split-screen mode. To resolve this, disable Lock task mode while configuring the kiosk policy.

You can still implement split-screen functionality within the multi-app kiosk without any issues. To do this:

  1. Include the required apps in the Multi-App kiosk policy.
  2. Check the Enable Recent apps button option in the Peripheral Settings.
  3. Apply the policy to your devices.
  4. On the device, long-press an app from the recent apps list to enter split-screen mode.

This should resolve your issues. If you have any more questions or need further assistance, feel free to reach out. We’re here to help!
