Hey guys, I’m managing a set of iOS and Android devices in my organization and was wondering — is it possible to mandate device enrollment after a factory reset?

Thanks for reaching out! Yes, you can ensure device re-enrollment after a factory reset, but it depends on the device type and the method of enrollment. 

For iOS devices

  • Devices enrolled through Apple DEP will automatically re-enroll after a factory reset. 

For Android devices

That’s helpful, @Eden. For Android, what happens to the device in the portal if it was enrolled using one of the other methods?

Hi @remi

Great question! If the device was enrolled through other methods, Hexnode will no longer be able to manage it, though it will still be listed in the console. These devices must be manually re-enrolled to regain management.
