Can anyone explain how does the renaming devices can be done?

Hey, Thanks for reaching out to us.
You can rename only supervised iOS devices. This name will be reflected on the device end as well.
Please follow the below steps for renaming the devices:
- Navigate to Manage > Devices and select the desired devices.
- Click on the Actions button and choose the option ‘Rename Device’. Type in the name. If multiple devices have been chosen and are to be named differently, check Append Number and set a starting number.
- Click Rename.

Yes, Wildcards can be used while renaming a device enrolled in Hexnode console.
The following wildcards are supported:
- %devicename%
- %username%
- %deviceid%
- %email%
- %imei%
- %osname%
- %serialnumber%
- %osversion%
