We know we’ve been teasing you for a while now, but the wait is finally over, and we are super excited to share that Hexnode will now support Conditional Access!! 🥳 🥳

What is conditional access?

Conditional access is a set of policies and configurations that dictates which devices and users can access specific data and services. Simply put, these policies ensure that the right people have access to the right resources under the right conditions.

Why is it important?

Conditional access allows organizations to manage user access to essential data anywhere, and at any time, without compromising security. The added flexibility makes it easier to enforce compliance policies, while the automation of routine tasks reduces manual intervention.

How can Conditional Access protect your resources?

Conditional access allows organizations to enforce specific criteria which must be met in order for the resource to be accessible to the users. These criteria include:

  • Location-based Access Control: Limit access to resources based on your user’s location. You can think of it as something similar to Hexnode’s geofencing, but for corporate resources.
  • Network-based Access Control: Limit access to resources based on your user’s IP address. This is similar to location-based access, but with the connected Wi-Fi network instead of a physical address.
  • Application-specific Access Control: Limit access to resources for approved applications only, ensuring that risky third-party apps can never gain access to sensitive data.
  • Enforce Compliance: Limit user access to resources based on compliance to specific conditions including OS versions, and device encryption status.
  • Enforce Authentication: Configure and enforce multi-factor authentication rules for accessing resources.
