Hexnode lets you clear app data on your devices. This will remove all your previously saved preferences and settings and resets apps to its default states. You won’t be able to clear the app cache alone. Rather you will be able to clear app cache along with app data as well.

Kindly follow the below steps to clear the app data

  1. Log in to your Hexnode MDM Console.
  2. On your dashboard, click on Manage. Head to Devices.
  3. Click on a device name. You will be taken to the specific device summary page.
  4. Click on Applications. Here you will see a list of all installed apps in your device.
  5. Identify the app and click on Settings (gear icon) on the right. Choose Clear app data from the drop-down list.
  6. You will get a prompt saying “Action execution initiated”.
  7. If your previous action has been completed successfully, you will be able to see an action message “Wipe App Data” and its status “Success” under Action History tab.

When an android device is locked down to web app kiosk mode, it is possible to clear the cache every time it is reloaded to the Home Page. For this, please enable the ‘Clear cache’ option under ‘Website kiosk settings’ in your kiosk enabling policy.

Cheers!
