Hey @sybylla !
Thank you for reaching out. I understand the inconvenience you’re facing with the Android kiosk mode. We have a solution for your query. Please follow the below steps while configuring the Android kiosk policy to troubleshoot the issue:
- In multi-app kiosk, include the Google Maps link formatted as a web app using the URL structure https://maps.app.goo.gl/xxxxxx/, alongside the Google Maps app.
Replace xxxxxx with appropriate parameters that define the location or directions. If you want to create a link to a specific place, you’ll need to get the URL from Google Maps. Here’s how you can do it:
- Open Google Maps on a device.
- Search for the name or address of the place you want to link to.
- Once you have the location, click on the “Share” button.
- In the window that appears, click on “Copy Link.”
- This will give you a full URL that you can use and share. The URL will look something like this: https://maps.app.goo.gl/xxxxxx.
- Copy the xxxxxx part and paste it in the web app URL https://maps.app.goo.gl/xxxxxx/.
- Navigate to the Website Kiosk Settings. Choose any browser you prefer and whitelist the URL: intent://maps.app.goo.gl/.
After implementing the steps mentioned, deploy the kiosk policy to the devices. Once the policy is successfully applied, the device will enter kiosk mode, and the Google Maps link will open in the Google Maps app instead of the browser.
Please let us know if this resolves your issue or if you need further assistance.
Best regards.
