Force Location tracking on Android devices using Hexnode MDMSolved

You will be able to enforce Location Tracking using Hexnode MDM.

To enforce Location tracking:

1. Login to the portal and navigate to Policies-> Android-> Restrictions-> Allow Location Settings. 
2. Enable the options ‘GPS’ and ‘Force GPS to fetch location’.
3. Navigate to General Settings-> Location Tracking in the same policy and click Configure.
4. Check the option ‘Enable Location Tracking’ and select the Location Update Interval.
5. Associate targets and save the policy.

Please note that location services can be enforced only on Samsung Knox, LG GATE and Kyocera business phones.

I know that the location gets update periodically as per the interval .Can I know the location of the devices at the particular instant that I am checking?

Hey, Thanks for reaching out to us.

Yes, it is possible. To track the location of the devices instantaneously:

• Please navigate to Manage-> Devices, select the desired device.
• Click on the Actions button and choose Scan Device Location.

To view the recent location, click on the device name and you will be directed to the device summary page, where the most recent location of the device is shown.

Can I generate a report on the location history of different devices in Hexnode?

Yes, you can. To generate a report on location history of devices in Hexnode:

• Navigate to Reports-> Location Reports-> Location History.
• You will be able to see the location history of different enrolled devices.
• Click on the Export button at the top to export the location history details as a CSV/PDF file.
