Hello, we’ve been using Hexnode’s file management feature to push corporate documents to employees’ devices. Unfortunately, the files are not reaching on one of the staff’s device after pushing them from the portal. Have any ideas about what the problem might be right now? If you need any additional information, please let me know.

Hi @aimi, thanks for reaching out to us.
Could you please tell me the Android version of the employee’s device? Also, have you recently updated the Hexnode UEM app on the device?
Thanks

@Evin Lee, using Samsung Galaxy M32 with Android version 11. Yes, have updated hexnode app recently.
Hey @Aimi,
Thanks for your reply!
Starting Android 11, the Hexnode UEM app requires a special permission “All files access” to avail file management and distribution functionalities on the devices. The files do not reach the device after associating the File Management policy because the “All files access” permission is not granted to the Hexnode UEM.
This permission is requested on the new Hexnode UEM app while enrolling the devices. However, when the Hexnode UEM/Hexnode for Work app is updated, permission for all files access may not be granted. As a result, you have to manually grant this permission for the Hexnode UEM app. Here is what you need to do.
Please launch the updated Hexnode UEM app, which will display a prompt “Manage All Files”. Next, click on Grant Access to give this permission to the app. You can also grant this permission from the device settings page (Settings > Apps > Special access > All files access). Please note that this path may vary according to the devices.
Hope this helps. Do reach out if you have any further queries.

Thank you very much, @Evin Lee. It worked. I have another question. After finishing work, employees disconnect the internet and turn off their devices. And, we have noticed that files fail to reach the device because they disconnect internet before the files are reached. Is there any way for users to know what percentage of downloads have been completed?
Hey @aimi, we have got you covered.
You can launch the Hexnode UEM/Hexnode for Work app, click on the tribar at the top left corner, and tap on the Downloads tab to keep track of the status of files distributed files from the portal. The Downloads tab displays the distributed files in one of three sub-sections as the download progresses: Active, Failed, and Completed.
The Active tab displays the currently active downloads, the Failed tab shows the failed downloads, and the Completed tab displays the completed downloads.
Moreover, the users can see how much of the download percentage has been completed in the Active tab. Hence, they can turn off their devices after ensuring that the files have reached the devices by checking the Downloads tab.
Hope this suits your requirements.
Cheers!
