Hey Kevin,

Could you go to Management > Devices and click on the device name?

This will take you to the corresponding device details page. Click on “Action History ” tab. Hover your mouse over the failed “Scan Device Location” action to see the reason for failure.

Thanks and regards

What could be the reasons for location scanning to fail?

Hey, Thanks for reaching out to us.

The possible reasons for the failure of a location scan are:

  1. The device is not connected to a network.
  2. The device is powered off.
  3. Location services have been disabled.
  4. The policy for location tracking has not been successfully associated with the device.

In the case of iOS devices, please confirm that the Hexnode MDM app is installed on the device. Ensure that the devices are connected to a network and location services are enabled on the device. The Location Tracking option under General Settings also should be enabled in the policy.

Cheers!
