Hi there,

I tried enrolling our Linux device into Hexnode, but I’m encountering an error that says:

“The Hexnode agent is already running. Stopping the enrollment process.”

I’m sure that I followed all the steps outlined in the documentation. Any idea what might be causing this?

Hi @mortimer,

Thank you for reaching out!

This issue usually occurs if the device was not properly disenrolled before attempting re-enrollment. Residual files from the previous enrollment may still be present, causing the error.

To resolve this, stop the Hexnode agent service and clear any lingering processes by running the following command in the terminal:

Once the command has been executed, try enrolling the device again. This should resolve the issue.

If the problem persists or if you have any other questions, feel free to reach out!

Best regards,

I did disenrolled the device once before trying to re-enroll it. Now the steps are working perfectly, and everything is functioning fine. Thank you so much for your help!
