Hello, our Android devices’ passwords have all expired. I tried to set the age to “never” prior to them expiring but it appears this did not influence the expiration date.
is there a way to keep the current/old password? I’m getting an error from the device saying “device administrator does not allow recent passwords”

Hey, Thanks for reaching out to us.

You are receiving the above error message as you have configured the option Passcode History in the password policy applied. You cannot set the same password again for more number of times than the value of passcode history. To enable the user for using the recent password, follow the below steps:

  1. Navigate to Policies tab and click on the password policy.
  2. Go to Android-> Password-> Device Password/ Work Profile Password and click on the drop-down list next to Password History. You can set a higher value or leave the field blank. If left blank, you can repeat the recent password any number of times
  3. Make sure the policy targets are associated and click Save.
