Hi everyone, we have many iPads in use, and they’re often shared across different departments. It’s becoming difficult to keep track of all of them. So, I want the device ID or serial number of devices on the lock screen, to make identifying each iPad easier, especially when locked. Can anyone suggest a method to achieve this?
Display device ID on lock screen (iPad)Solved

Hi @wilma . One way to display the device ID and serial number is by creating custom wallpapers that include the device ID or serial number. These wallpapers can then be deployed to the devices making identification seamless.
Hi @wilma . You can display the device ID or serial number on the lock screen of your iOS/iPad by configuring the Lock Screen Message feature under Policies > iOS > Configurations. To know more about setting lock screen messages, you can refer to our help documentation on How to set Lock Screen Message on iOS devices.
Here, in the Lock screen message field, type “Device ID” or “Serial Number” to label the information you want to display. In the Asset tag information field, use the wildcard %deviceid% to display the device ID or %serialnumber% to display the device’s serial number.

Can users modify the lock screen message directly on their devices after deploying this configuration?
Hi @Pauel . Thanks for reaching out. No, users cannot modify the lock screen messages configured through Hexnode UEM from the device end. These details are locked to prevent unauthorized changes.
Please let us know if this resolves your question or if you need any more assistance.
