I have Android devices enrolled in Hexnode at my shop. They are to play videos to customers. But people keep meddling with the device volume buttons. Can i disable them using the MDM

Hey, Thanks for reaching out to us.

Could you please tell me if these devices are locked down to kiosk mode?

Cheers!

Hey, Thanks for the reply.

Hexnode enables you to disable the volume buttons in Android devices locked down to kiosk mode:

  • Navigate to Policies-> Kiosk Lockdown-> Android Kiosk Lockdown-> Peripheral Settings-> Hardware/Software buttons.
  • Select Disable volume button.
  • Associate targets and save the policy.

Once the policy is successfully associated with the device, the volume indicator will be displayed on pressing the volume button, but anything set on the indicator will be rejected. The volume set on the device before the policy was applied will only take effect on the device

Cheers!
