when it comes to restricting data usage, can we restrict data usage for a user on daily basis ? like allow a user to only use 10 MB for an application ?

Hey Issac, thanks for posting the question.

If you are trying to restrict the data usage on your device, kindly navigate to Android–>Mobile Data Management–>Data usage restrictions. You can find the option to specify the data usage limit and also to notify the user/admin or both.

If you are referring to App-wise restriction, please go to ‘App-wise restrictions’ under ‘mobile data management’ and add the app for which the restriction is to be applied. You can then click next and choose to restrict the data usage on a daily basis and specify the data limit (can be set to 10MB).

Kindly check this help document for more information on the same.

Cheers!

Hey, Thanks for reaching out.

In the case of iOS devices, Hexnode has the ‘Network Usage Rules’ option beneath ‘Expense Management’. On configuring this option you will have the following choices to select from:

  1. Cellular data usage: Disable to restrict mobile data usage by the managed apps
  2. Data usage on roaming: Disable to restrict mobile data usage while roaming by the managed apps.

Choose the required apps from the configuration window. Click add and Save.

Kindly use the link for more info.

Cheers!
