What? You can’t do in app purchases? But we were able to handle refunds until quite recently!
Thanks for reaching out to us guys!
Max, as declared by Google, Managed Google Play will no longer support the ability to purchase app licenses. Your organization will not be able to purchase additional licenses also. But you will be able to request refunds for the app licenses already owned by your organization, as was the case of @Pearl.
Hope that was of some help.

the feature was not available in all regions to begin with and they removed support before it could be widely adopted. I wonder if there are workarounds to this.
Our region did not have managed google play bulk app purchase support. We had to reach out to developers to add an option to add end user authentication and license key.
Hi @zola,
Thank you for choosing Hexnode!
As mentioned by @Judith earlier, to deploy paid Managed Google Play apps in bulk to your devices, we recommend reaching out to the concerned app developers to develop a version of the app without upfront payment. The newly developed app should work in such a way that it activates only with a license key pushed via managed configurations.
Follow the steps below to deploy such apps to your devices:
- First, approve and add the new Managed Google Play app to Hexnode’s app inventory.
- Create a policy to add the app as a mandatory app.
- In the same policy, use managed app configurations to push the license keys needed to activate the app.
- Associate the policy with target devices.
The Managed Google Play app will be installed and activated on all target devices.
Hope this answer meets your requirements.
Cheers!
