Unfortunately, many Android TV devices are natively designed to work in landscape mode. The firmware of many TV boxes is customized to force the screen orientation to landscape. One workaround for this issue is to download third-party apps like set orientation or screen orientation control which are available on Google Play Store that provide options to set the screen orientation to portrait.
