Hey, have you guys tried out that new color tinting feature in iOS 18?

Oh yeah, it’s pretty cool. You can basically apply any color you like to your app icons and widgets, or let iOS suggest a color that matches your wallpaper. It’s a fun way to customize your Home Screen.

Oh, it’s easy. Just press and hold anywhere on your Home Screen where there isn’t an app. You’ll see an option to edit in the top corner. Tap that, then go to Customize, and choose Tinted. You can even adjust the intensity of the color to make it look just right.

Wait, are the dark icons they introduced the same thing as this color tinting? Does it just make everything darker?

Not quite. Dark icons are a separate feature from tinting. You enable them the same way, but instead of choosing Tinted, you pick Dark. The cool part is that when your iPhone enters Dark Mode, or always appear dark, icons automatically adjust to match.
