Hello,
High school teacher here. have 12 new iPads that need to be supervised before giving them to the students. Tried supervising them using AC but for some unknown reason the device isnt showing up in the Configurator. Is it just my luck or is there some issue here? Thoughts?

@Aubrey 12 devices? That’s a lot of devices. Why Apple Configurator? Try DEP.

@Dakarai have supervised a few devices using AC2. Didn’t face any problems then. AC2 seems to have given up on me now. Don’t know anything abt DEP. Will google DEP and see. Hope it is doable for a noob like me. Fingers crossed!!

Hello Aubrey,
Thank you for reaching out to us. The problem can be due to a faulty cable. Try replacing the cable. If it still doesn’t work, any of the steps given below might do the trick:
- Try changing the port of the Mac.
- Reboot both the devices and try.
- Put the iPad in recovery mode and try.
- Perform a factory reset and try again.
As Dakari pointed out, you can also supervise using Device Enrollment Program. Do check out our help doc on Supervising using Apple Device Enrollment Program.
Cheers!!
