Hi, Jayden.

It depends on the device platform. On iOS devices and the newer Android devices, encryption is turned on by default. You just have to set a password, which will then be used to encrypt the data stored on these devices.

On older Android devices and Windows devices you will have to manually turn encryption on from the device settings. Either way, it is not accounted for in the compliance criteria.

Check out “Data Protection Enabled” section in this forum comment for more info.

Thanks and regards

Hey, Thanks for reaching out to us.

You can configure BitLocker encryption using Hexnode MDM. This will enforce encryption of system drives, fixed data drives and removable drives, thus increasing data protection. BitLocker blocks the unsanctioned access to data even if the devices go missing or is stolen. It will encrypt the Operating System and verify the boot process integrity.
This is supported only on Windows 10 Pro(v1809+) devices.

Need more info? Check out Bitlocker Encryption using Hexnode.

Cheers!
