Hi, Paul.

It happens when Hexnode MDM has not been granted the Modify System Settings permission. If you can grant the permission on the device, you should have not problem changing the screen brightness.

On the device,

  1. Exit Kiosk mode and open Settings
  2. Search Modify System Settings
  3. On newer devices, it would show up under Settings > Special Access
  4. Tap open Modify System Settings
You will see a list of apps that have requested the permission.
  5. Scroll down and select Hexnode MDM
  6. You will see Allow Modify System Settings with a Toggle to the right. Toggle it ON to grant the permission.
  7. You can now turn Kiosk mode back ON.
  8. Initiate a Device scan from the portal
  9. Once the scan shows success, you will be able to change the brightness without any issues.

Thanks and regards
