Hide policy details

Hi, we’re currently managing a number of macOS devices through Hexnode, and I noticed that users can see the policy names and descriptions when they open the Profiles section in System Settings. Some of our policies include internal naming conventions that are mainly meant for our IT team. Is there any way to hide the…

Hi everyone, I’m looking for a way to push a preconfigured RDP file to our macOS devices using Hexnode. Has anyone done this successfully? We need to get these shortcuts onto the user desktops without manual setup.

App Bundle Configuration Issue

Hi everyone, I’m running into a bit of a snag with App Bundles. I’ve successfully added an app to my app inventory, but when I go to create an App Bundle, I can’t select it as the “principal app”. It simply doesn't show up on the list. Is there a specific step I’m missing to make it visible?

Anyone updating just specific apps on macOS?

Hey everyone,  I need to update only a few specific apps across my macOS devices, mainly for security reasons.   I know that Install application remote action would work, but I don't have the time to manually select devices and execute the action each time there’s an update.  I’m also not looking to update everything automatically, since a few teams rely on specific app versions for compatibility.  Is there a better…

Scan device location fails

Hi, I tried running the scan device location action on a Mac that’s currently in our warehouse. I was just testing it before deploying the device. The action is showing as failed in the action history though the device is physically there. Any idea why this would happen?

A Mac-nificent Declaration: iOS finally shares the DDM spotlight!

Hello all! Something big is simmering in the Hexnode kitchen, and we can’t wait to give you a taste. We’ve been talking about the "future of management" for a while, and if you’ve been using our Declarative Device Management (DDM) for iOS, you’ve already seen that future in action. But why should mobile devices get…

Disabling Office Macros

My company requires Office Macros are disabled. For Winodws and MacOS, this is not a built in setting in Hexnode policies. I cannot find any Powershell scripts or batch files to run and enable this setting. Can this be built in?

Add Admin user with functionality like Microsoft LAPS

I have been a long-time user of Microsoft LAPS and would like to have similar functionality in Hexnode across different operating systems. Local Administrator Password Solution (LAPS) is a function that prevents using the same administrative passwords across different endpoints/devices. It regularly changes the passwords and enables management software to retrieve the correct password for…
