I tried enrolling an iOS device in Apple Business Manager, but it failed.  I wonder if there is any way to add iOS devices to ABM manually?

Is the device purchased from an authorized Apple reseller?

Hey @Maliyah,

Happy to help you!

Certainly! You can add iOS devices to ABM even if they are not purchased from an authorized Apple reseller. As suggested by @Quintin, you can make use of Apple Configurator enrollment for adding iOS devices to Apple Business Manager manually. Yet there are certain specifications that needs to be considered before you proceed.

  • Ensure that the device runs iOS 11 or later.
  • If the device is already in use, it needs to be wiped and reset to initiate the enrollment.
  • You should have at least one iOS device directly purchased from Apple or Apple Authorized Reseller.
  • Apple Configurator 2.0 should be running version 2.5 or later.

Apple Configurator enrollment can be completed successfully if all of the conditions mentioned above are met.

You can refer to our help doc to learn how to enroll iOS devices using Apple Configurator.

Hope it helps! Feel free to approach us if you have more queries.

Greetings!
