how do you delete a device ,we’re going to re-add it

Have a look at this topic to learn how you can delete a device from your Hexnode MDM portal.

When you disenroll a device from the portal, the device identity is purged. When you re-enroll the device, it will be regarded as a fresh device and you can start from scratch. The previous groups or policies will not be retained at all.

Is there any way to retain the device details and enroll back the same device again?

Hey, Thanks for reaching out to us.

Please navigate to Admin-> General Settings-> Enrollment-> Re-enrollment options. If the ‘Retain configurations and change owner’ option under Re-enrollment options is enabled in the portal, while re-enrolling the device back again, the device will retain the configurations that were previously associated with it.

Can admin know when a device is re-enrolled? Probably receive an alert.

Yes, the admin can be notified via email when a device is re-enrolled in Hexnode:

  • Navigate to Admin-> Notifications-> Notify administrators on.
  • Check Device re-enrolled.
  • Click Save.
