Hey, Thanks for reaching out to us.

To block specific apps on the user’s device, you can blacklist those apps. Please follow the below steps for blacklisting apps:

  1. Navigate to Policies-> iOS-> App Management-> Blacklist/Whitelist. Click on Configure.
  2. Choose the blacklist button.
  3. Click on the +Add to add apps or group of apps to be blacklisted.
  4. Click Done. Associate targets and save the policy.

If specific apps are blacklisted on a supervised iOS device, these apps will be hidden from the device screen. If blacklisted on a non-supervised device, the apps will not be hidden, but the device will be marked as non-compliant. Check out the help doc on blocking apps on iOS devices for more info.

To block specific websites, you can use Web Content Filtering. Follow the below steps for the same:

  1. Please navigate to Policies-> iOS-> Security-> Web Content Filtering. Click on Configure.
  2. Choose the blacklist button and add the URLs to be blacklisted.
  3. Click on the Add button to enlist all the URLs to be blocked. To remove a URL from the list, click on the X button to the right of the URL.
  4. Associate targets and save the policy.

Web Content Filtering is supported only on Supervised iOS devices.

Cheers!

While configuring web content filtering, found this option at the bottom part- Restrict in appropriate content. What all will this option block?

Hey, Thanks for reaching out to us.

If the option ‘Restrict inappropriate content’ is enabled in the policy, the automatic web content filtering will get applied to the target devices. Though Apple is not completely perfect with blocking, this will reduce the need for manually adding each URL one by one. When this option is enabled, a text box will appear below it. If there are any specific URLs that you wish should be accessible by the user even if the auto filter tries to block them, please specify these URLs in the box.

Cheers!
