Will filevault for mac works if the devices doesn’t qualify for ABMSolved

I have an office with about 20 devices that need to be registered. Most are Mac OSx, but there are a few iPads as well. None of the existing devices qualify for ABM. Will the FileVault feature work if the device is not registered with ABM?

Hey, Thanks for reaching out to us.

File Vault can be enabled on Mac OSX10.3 and later, even if they are not added to ABM. File Vault is a full disc encryption program to secure the data and prevent unauthorized access to the devices. Once the device is encrypted, you will need a password or recovery key for logging in to your Mac.

Check out the help doc on File Vault for more info.

Cheers!
