what does activation lock do under advanced restrictions?
Activation lockSolved

Hey Wyatt, thanks for reaching out!
Activation lock is to keep your device and information safe even if your device is lost or stolen. Even if you erase your device remotely, Activation Lock can continue to deter anyone from reactivating your device without your permission.
That means you need to enter the same Apple ID and password that you used when you previously set up the device.
Checking the activation lock option under advanced restrictions enables the activation lock on the devices. For the restriction to take effect on the device, you have to disable Find my iPhone and enable it again manually.

What about bypassing activation lock?
Hey, Thanks for reaching out to us.
You can clear the activation lock from the MDM console or bypass the activation lock with bypass code.
- To clear the activation lock from the MDM console, navigate to Manage tab and select the desired device. Click on the Actions button and choose the option Clear Activation Lock.
- To Bypass Activation Lock with bypass code, navigate to the Manage tab and click on the desired device. You will be directed to the Device Summary Page. Navigate to the Device Info subtab. Beneath the Activation Lock section, you will be able to see the bypass code. You can enter this code in the password field when the device asks you to verify the Apple ID and password. This will let you bypass the activation lock.
Please note that the above features are supported only on supervised iOS 7.1 or later devices.
For more help, please refer the help doc on methods to bypass the activation lock.
Cheers!
